Café de deux Moulins

It is the most famous Café in Montmartre today, and not because of its tradition since the Belle Epoque, but because part of the film "Amélie" was filmed here.

In 2001, a French director living in the United States, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, said he was tired of all the movies of Paris showing the Eiffel Tower or the rooftops of the city. He wanted the Americans to know the Paris he lived, the one of his protagonist Amélie, the one of Montmartre, with his peasant appearance, the Paris of neighborhoods where people are still going to buy bread at the neighborhood "Boulangérie" or drink their coffee always in the same place.

He created a movie whose official name will be: "The fabulous fate of Amélie Poulin", where the protagonist would work in this cafe and its purpose in life was only to improve the lives of others. Audrey Tatou is the main role actress and it launched her to success.

The name of the café refers to being between two well-known mills, the Moulin Rouge and the Moulin de la Galette.
