Dalida

The famous Italian-French singer of Egyptian origin, Dalida, settled in Montmartre in 1962. Here she lived until her death in 1987. In 1997, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the deceased, the Montmartre district decided to pay homage to her with a bust, a work of Alain Aslan

Dalida was a great character in the 80s' famous for her song with Alain Delon "Paroles". Her life was tragic having married 3 times of which his 3 husbands end up committing suicide. He was also associated with a clandestine relationship with François Miterrand, the great president of those years in France. However, his love was not free either and finally he ends up committing suicide.

A popular romantic legend says that the president ordered that the Louvre pyramid, inaugurated in 1989, was precisely a pyramid in honor of Dalida.
