Don't miss anything

We see indigenous elements mixed with Catholic symbols. The Spaniards constantly carried out this technique of partially destroying objects of the indigenous cult to place their elements and to show a symbol that Catholicism imposes itself on pagan ancient religions.

The conquest had already been military, subjecting the bodies, but not spiritual. The Spanish brought Catholicism as a dominant element and imposed the religion of the only god at any price. Numerous Aztec temples were destroyed to place over Catholic churches. The most representative example is the destruction of the Templo Mayor in the historic center to later use its same stones for the construction of the Cathedral.
